Street Communication Inc is Hiring a Material Handler Near Bridgeport, CT

As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in our warehouse operations by efficiently handling, organizing, and moving materials within the facility. Your responsibilities will include receiving incoming shipments, picking and packing orders, staging materials for production, and maintaining accurate inventory records. If you are detail-oriented, physically fit, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you to join our team!

Responsibilities:

Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or packing lists.

Inspect materials for damages, defects, or discrepancies.

Document and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.

Move materials between storage areas using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.

Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials.

Safely stack and organize materials in designated storage locations.

Pick materials from inventory based on production or order requirements.

Pack materials securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Stage materials for production or outgoing shipments as needed.

Keep accurate records of material inventory levels using inventory management systems.

Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in inventory reconciliation.

Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking materials as needed.

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling materials.

Report any safety hazards or incidents to management immediately.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations is preferred but not required.

Forklift certification is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.

Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.

Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.75 - $23.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
