Key position functions include:

  • Identify & advise on Federal (i.e. EPA, OSHA, DOT), State (TCEQ), local and SCGC Corporate compliance status in relation to training, recordkeeping, permits, reports, policy and procedures and other related HSE departmental compliance issues at the branch location.
  • Manage the hazardous waste profiles, tracking, and reporting processes for the branch location.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, problem resolution, and appropriate feedback (positive and corrective) within the Branch & associated customer base.
  • Develop & maintain an industrial hygiene plan that is specific & documented for the Branch location.
  • Provides support in compiling data and evaluating statistics for management, federal and state agencies, as well as customer quotation requirements / reporting specifics to the Branch location.
  • Conduct facility inspections as required (Quarterly HSE DATs inspections, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Eye Wash, Etc.).
  • Provide HSE communications to the Branch employees to facilitate HSE awareness & overall knowledge enhancement (i.e. toolbox meetings, safety committee, safety shutdowns).
  • Identify 3rd parties to fulfill specific training requirements (i.e. Safe Land, H2S, Aerial Lift, etc.) for the Branch location.
  • Facilitate the in the new hire process by providing the overall specific safety information (i.e. emergency response plan, PPE, etc.), required training (i.e. LMS), Branch tour & introduction to key personnel for the Branch.
  • Attend Branch customer HSE meetings & build relationships with customer HSE organizations.
  • Facilitate & conduct risk assessments (i.e. JHA, JSAs) with Branch operations to identify existing risk and implement controls to reduce residual risk to an accepted risk level determined by the business.
  • Identify management of change (MOC) events and use the existing MOC process to document and qualify the proposed change from an HSE perspective.
  • Provide HSE guidance at the customer wellsite by performing regularly scheduled field audits, ad-hoc inspections, communication & feedback to field service technicians.
  • Position must be available for events (i.e. incidents, mishaps, customer requests) that may occur outside the established normal business hours.

Preferred candidate will possess a combination of the following:

  • 1-2 years previous experience involved in an HSE related position (experience in oil & gas preferred) or a college degree in an HSE related field.
  • Able to expand basic HSE and business skills to include a broader understanding of organizational processes and procedures.
  • Able to solve varied, but straightforward problems, analyzing and selecting solutions from prior learned experiences.
  • Able to plan and prioritize existing HSE Department’s needs with existing Business Unit demands with the ability to meet the required agreed upon deadlines.
  • Analyze data for trends or deviations from established performance standards and provide the corresponding skills to interpret the data for the appropriate impact to the business
  • Able to recognize the business impact of non-compliance to laws, industry best practices and internal standards.
  • Recognize and exhibit the understanding of the broader functional impact of the work being performed and suggests ways to solve problems.
  • Possess an advanced proficiency in applicable software applications, with an emphasis on MS Excel for spreadsheet creation and data mining.
  • Able to express written and verbal communication skills create presentations, procedures, and HSE alerts.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on customer (internal & external) success is critical.
  • Generally characterized as an “independent Contributor” with the ability to initiate and/or recommend optional theories or problem solutions.
  • Ability to independently establish work tasks to successfully meet expectations.
  • Position requires walking, bending, climbing, office sitting, stooping and moderate lifting daily.
