Exemplifies commitment to The Setais mission of Total Guest Satisfaction
Consistently offers professional, friendly and warm hospitality to all guests
Explains the menu in detail including any changes or specialties of the day
Makes food and beverage recommendations when requested based on detailed knowledge of the food menu, dessert menu, tea and coffee offerings, and wine list
Ability to answer guests questions concerning ingredients, preparation methods, etc., especially as pertains to food allergies
Takes orders, places orders with the kitchen, follows up on order progress
Ensures that tables are completely and properly set before each course is served
Clears, cleans and resets tables
Takes inventory of chinaware, glassware and flatware before and after each shift
Continually communicates needed information to runners and other restaurant staff
Checks side stations to ensure they are prepared before each shift
Verifies the check before presenting it to the guest(s), collects the proper payment
Attends daily briefings, meetings and training as required
Reports to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; AND a minimum of five years of experience as a server in a fine dining restaurant; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent customer service skills and demeanor
Excellent communication skills, including fluency in spoken English
Strong knowledge of food and beverage
Strong knowledge of fine dining room etiquette
Ability to focus on details
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a team environment
