Additional perks & benefits for year round employees POSITION DETAILS: Stratton Mountain Resort is currently seeking a Group Event Planner to act as the primary liaison between group leaders, guests, and internal departments involved in the execution of their events on resort. These events include but are not limited to weddings, corporate events, and private group functions. The Group Event Planner position is full time, year-round, benefit eligible role that starts at $21.00/hour plus commission. Essential Duties:
Work closely with guests throughout the planning process to coordinate details of an event
Organize space requirements, times, audio/visual, menus, decorations, activities, and lodging with guests and internal departments
Project management for special events
Communicate with internal staff to ensure quality product and guest satisfaction
Be present to oversee proper execution of the events
Record all event and group details into Delphi
Work with outside vendors and partners connected to groups and events
Handle billing for each group and event
Conduct post event and group reviews and make recommendations for improvement
Maintain excellent communication with Sales Managers, Catering Manager, Food and Beverage Director and Director of Sales
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Previous experience in Conference Services and Food & Beverage in a hotel environment strongly preferred
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills required
Ability to work well with diverse groups of people
Ability to multi-task with paying attention to details
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Understanding of resort operations
Working knowledge of Delphi, Host, Microsoft Outlook a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Office Environment:
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Mountain Environment:
The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
