Summary of Responsibilities

Overview: We are seeking an Assistant Quality Engineering Manager to provide temporary support to our client in the Seymour, IN area. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing quality engineering activities and ensuring the production of high-quality window trim products. This position requires familiarity with Toyota supplier operations and expertise in manufacturing processes, particularly in thin metal bending/forming/crimping.

Salary Range: $37 - $39 per hour (1099 Contractor)

Duration: Temporary (6-8 weeks)

Shift Information: 1st shift (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM), 40 hours weekly

Start Date: April 8th, 2024

Essential Job Function

• Support the Quality Engineering Manager in overseeing all quality-related activities within the manufacturing facility.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and processes to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify quality issues and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance and training to quality engineering staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for corrective action.
• Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and non-conformances, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
• Participate in new product launches and engineering change activities, providing quality engineering support as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of quality-related activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective action plans.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive industry.
• Prior experience working with Toyota suppliers is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in thin metal bending/forming/crimping.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, Toyota SQAM).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
