About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to join our team as a Senior HR Specialist. In this role, you will leverage your HR expertise to champion our company culture, manage various HR processes, and serve as a trusted advisor to staff and management. You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new team members, maintaining positive team member relations, and fostering a productive work environment.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. This background provides a strong foundation for understanding human behavior in the workplace and developing effective HR strategies, including leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making.

Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain all HR records (electronic and physical)
Champion our Walbridge culture of inclusion initiative and promote strong working relationships
Advise on and ensure compliance with EEO, labor classifications, OFCCP, Health Benefits, and Retirement plans
Conduct exit and retention interviews and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
Oversight of onboarding and orientation programs for new team members
Consult with project leaders on HR matters
Monitor substance abuse testing process
Investigate and resolve team member relations issues
Oversee labor postings and signage
Coordinate onsite health and wellness programs
Assist the Corporate HR department with various HR functions, including data analysis projects
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field
Prefer 5 years of HR experience (3 years of experience considered)
Proven expertise in a specific HR specialty area (e.g., recruitment, team member relations, benefits administration)
Proficiency in HR information systems, databases, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint), and data analysis tools (experience with HR analytics software a plus)
Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures
Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to build relationships and work effectively with people at all levels
Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a unionized environment (ideal but not required)
