Job Details
Job Title: Application Engineer (Full Stack)
Duration: 3 Month contract; chance to extend/convert to full time.
Location: Riverwoods, IL (ONSITE)
Pay: $60-80
Industry: Financial
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Computer Science or related
- 3 Years Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related
- Experience in Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS.
- Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining APIs, containerized applications/services, and IaaS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkin, Git/GitHub, or Gitlab
- Experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
- Programming language experience in Python. Experience in more than one language (Java, C#, Node, etc.) and can pick up a new language quickly.
Desired Requirements:
- Experience with OpenShift Container Platform
- Experience with contract testing using Pact and/or setting up Pact Broker
- Experience with Golang
- Full stack web applications development experience using React, Node.js
- Risk management knowledge

- Competent in multiple contexts, including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains and is the go-to person for many people (inside and outside of their team)
- Research new technological opportunities and how they can be used to add technical capabilities at Discover.

- Contributes to the external image of Discover Technology as a desired workplace to learn technology best practices.
