Strategic Solutions Unlimited is Hiring a Geo-Spatial Analyst (Job Location: USAG - Humphreys, ROK) Near Fayetteville, NC

SSU is currently recruiting for a Geo-Spatial Analyst to support United States Special Operation Command – Korea (SOCKOR). This opportunity is an on-site / office position for an active contract.

Location: USAG - Humphreys, ROK

Security Clearance: TS, SCI eligible

Duties and Responsibilities

The Geo-Spatial analyst shall support the TSOC targeting and all-source analysis for the support of SOCKOR mission set and integration with the USFK mission. Duties shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Create, load, and integrate geospatial data layers including cultural / social layers for named areas of interest to support analytical modeling.
  • Provide integrated geospatial and temporal analysis to discover and characterize relationships, trends, and infer conclusions to enable pattern analysis.
  • Maintain Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS™ and spatial data layers to support data integration.
  • Assist in the integration of data mining, visualization, nodal analysis, and temporal tools with the ArcGIS™ tools and the integration of NGA products.
  • Provide requisite ArcGIS™ and database programming scripts and enabling subroutines for data entry, retrieval, and export.
  • Provide customized capabilities for ease of use and assist in definition and management of geospatial requirements to support command goals and objectives.
  • Incorporate non-standard multi-format data sets into geospatial systems and databases for data manipulation and exploitation.
  • Design, create, and execute advanced computational and statistical modeling applications for geospatial analysis, display, and pattern recognition.
  • Refine and export complex algorithmic data results into user-friendly analytical products for simplified geospatial understanding.
  • Obtain, maintain, disseminate, and refresh thousands of geospatial data layers using ESRI Arc Spatial Data Engine™, facilitating sharing, currency, and deconfliction among partner agencies and commands across all operational levels.
  • Coordinate with other command and national geospatial specialists to ensure standardization, continuity of operations, and integration of capabilities.
  • Provide cost-surface analysis in support of route, mobility, infiltration/exfiltration support to Irregular Warfare / Unconventional Warfare (IW/UW) operations, and aid in High Value Target targeting.
  • Provide 3-Dimensional Analysis for view shed area familiarization, routing, and landing zone suitability studies.
  • Provide expertise, insight, and advice to the geospatial personnel on complex geospatial tasks and theory.
  • Collect and use geodata from various sources in the IC using well-defined research and data collection methodologies currently in use within the existing systems to gather and catalog geospatial data quickly.
  • Contact and form a network with other geospatial analysts from organizations such as the NGA, Joint Warfare Analysis Center, NGIC, Central Intelligence Agency, Topographic Engineering Center, multiple deployed units, and those already at USINDOPACOM, USFK, and other units on the Korean Peninsula.
  • Maintain a network to identify new data layers, building and gaining access to multiple distribution lists.
  • Leverage experience and a robust in-house familiarity with the national-level geospatial infrastructure to enable SOCKOR to maintain up-to-date, dynamic access to multiple geospatial data distribution centers.
  • Analyze the quality of data as required for appropriate uses in different circumstances and at different scales and resolutions.
  • Utilize readily available commercial and custom application solutions to make data available quickly and efficiently to the analysts.
  • Work with developers to continuously improve multiple scripts written for ArcGIS, Signature Analyst™, Map of the World, and other Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf applications.
  • Utilize existing TSOC / PAS data structures, schemas, and geodatabases managed by the data librarian to catalog and organize complex geospatial data. For example, categorizing data as environmental, socio-cultural, or intelligence thematic groups.
  • Assist analysts in their geospatial awareness when reading serialized reporting and open-source information.
  • Identify gaps in geospatial data, both in terms of theme and geographic area, and assist in building collection requirements.
  • Organize working sessions with other analysts ensuring data currency and methodology continuity.
  • Ensure utilization of collaborative sites for SME knowledge reach back.
  • Discuss overall geospatial issues; identify links and gaps in geospatial community activities; share techniques and methods; and work to advance the geospatial tradecraft.
  • Remain focused on innovation and leading-edge technologies, continuously examining competing and complementary processes in search of the best methods to solve difficult problems, including traditional rules-based methods, geographic profiling methods, crime statistics, geospatial statistics, and classic regression analysis – employing some of these methods in analytical assessments when warranted.
  • Prepare final project geospatial data for incorporation into geospatial dissemination products.
  • Create analytical products from project data.
  • Create analytical presentation products using Map of the World, converting final project data into the required formatting.
  • Live and work in an operational environment when required (e.g., semiannual exercises operating from CP Tango, FOS-I, USAG-Daegu).
  • The work of this position is sedentary; however, light physical effort is required.
  • The work is typically performed in an adequately lit and climate-controlled office.
  • This position shall be designated a Mission Essential Contractor (MEC).

Qualifications:

  • Fluently speak, read, and write English.
  • Certified or Fully Trained on the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software.
  • Skills to develop, manipulate, and maintain geospatial databases.
  • Familiarity with Map of the World and other COTS geospatial tools.
  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Office and SharePoint products
  • Ability to work in a high tempo, high stress environment with minimal oversight.
  • Valid Korean or International Driver’s License
