  • Be a visible leader within the organization, communicating the SOC’s identity, purpose, and values. Lead internal communications on Human Resources matters.
  • Oversee performance management, including managing staff evaluations, staff objectives and support for supervisors and the organization, and helping maintain a strong culture of collaboration and feedback.

  • Develop and maintain effective programs for retention and promotion, implementing a program of staff communication so that employee needs are addressed proactively.
  • Manage the organization’s ongoing diversity, equity, and inclusion work, including working with a team of DEI consultants and supporting internal working groups to deepen staff skills to assist the SOC’s efforts to bring a strong equity lens to our internal and external work.
  • Work closely with senior management and staff to provide guidance to improve work relationships and increase morale, productivity, and retention.

  • At least five years of experience in People management and Organizational Development.

  • Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with staff at all levels across the organization, including excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent people skills. Ability to develop effective relationships across the organization, to act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently at a high level
  • Strong commitment to progressive social change
