Strategic Human Capital is Hiring a Variable Cost Analyst Near Texas, TX
Position SummaryThis opportunity is with a top-tier global chemical company located in the SE greater Houston area. This plant site is located on 2,400 acres. We are seeking an experienced Variable Cost Analyst to join our team. This role will report to the Site Controller. As a key contributor, your primary role is to ensure the timely availability of goods and services required for production. Key Responsibilities
Accountable for accurate variable cost reporting, ensuring clarity in variance explanations
Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, and Finance teams for cost analysis in actuals, budget, and forecasts
Analyze variable production costs, including utilities and raw materials
Manage and analyze costs attributable to Site Partners, including monthly billing
Provide cash forecasting for weekly and monthly cash flow reporting
Perform balance sheet assurance and regular reconciliations
Liaise with Operations and Procurement to understand and communicate cost variances
Offer financial analysis and advice to improve plant performance
Monitor and reconcile stock ledgers in accordance with accounting standards
Handle stock valuation and COGS FIFO process per International Financial Reporting Standards
Calculate and accrue income from Site Partners and manage prior accruals
Maintain current Bill of Materials (BOM) for each product
Participate in ad-hoc project teams and undertake additional finance duties as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance with 3-5 years relevant experience
Proficient understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and GAAP
Independent and results-oriented, with a focus on high data quality
Well-developed PC skills, preferably with knowledge of SAP
Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing industry is REQUIRED
Strong numerical, analytic skills, and business acumen
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under significant time pressure and deliver reasoned outcomes
Organized and flexible, capable of handling site operational complexities
