The quality of education can differ from one youth the next. Often times quality of education and resources can differ based on the zip code in which a family lives. This has manifested a systemic inequality that can be a foundation of life-long of inequities. We strive to be purpose driven in our approach with youth. Every moment we are entrusted to serve can be a moment of impact, which can cause a trajectory shift in a youths life. 

Literacy Tutors will assist with providing students with appropriate learning activities and experience designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Literacy Tutors will be aligned to work with small groups (1 to 3 Ratio) of students at a time to improve their reading skills. Hours will depend on which programs and tutor’s preference.

The major responsibility will be to conduct literacy sessions with small groups of students using pre-defined lesson plans that are fully scripted with small groups of 3rd - 6th Grade students. Lessons will vary.

Provide a safe, caring and enriching environment for groups of children participating in an in-school or afterschool program. Assist with supervision and engagement of students in youth development and activities.
