Strategic Analysis, Inc is Hiring a Principal Scientist/Engineer (Quantum Computing (Part-Time) #23- with Security Clearance Near Arlington, VA

Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) seeks a part-time Senior Analyst to support a Quantum Sciences and Engineering portfolio within the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). The ideal candidate will have experience in program management and quantum computing, with an understanding of the underlying hardware architecture across multiple approaches and the application of quantum computing to DoD problems. As a Senior Analyst, you will: * Track, organize, and prioritize quantum computing applications by DoD utility, feasibility of realization, and completeness of the application concept across multiple institutions (government, industry, academia, etc.). * Develop processes to rigorously test quantum computing applications that utilize existing resources available to the government and independent of quantum computing companies, such as FFRDCs, UARCs, etc. * Recommend studies and project concepts to improve DoD knowledge base of quantum computing application utility. * Maintain an information database, and benchmarks, with a public interface that documents DoD quantum applications and gaps in utility. Work Location: On-site work in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA is required. Telework options are available within the Washington, DC commuting area. Travel: Some travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS Clearance: An active TOP SECRET security clearance is required; TS/SCI strongly preferred. Education: * Master's degree in scientific, technical, business management, or other related discipline is preferred. At the discretion of the Government, specialized experience may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements. * PhD strongly preferred.
Experience: * Minimum ten (10) years' recent and relevant experience providing strategic technical oversight of projects. * Proficient in technical research and technical writing. * Excellent communication skills, unstructured verbal interactions, briefings, and meeting moderation * Ability to work independently with both junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverables scheduled.
