Purpose

The Direct Mail Intern will work with the Direct Marketing Strategist to strategize, develop, and execute direct mail for multiple clients. This individual should be highly detail oriented, a strong communicator, and have an interest in direct marketing. They will be involved in strategy development, planning, implementation, and analysis of direct mail programs for several clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Interest in analyzing data to develop marketing strategies.
• Involved in all aspects of direct mail campaigns, including campaign development, targeting and segmentation, creative strategy, execution, and results analysis.
• Assists in creating and refining customer lists in preparation for direct marketing campaigns.
• Leverage customer data and profiles to develop segmentation and messaging strategies.
• Perform Q/A reviews of data sets, budgets, campaign worksheets and creative.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and timelines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Participates in testing strategy and measurement of campaigns, develops reports to analyze test results.
• Organize and maintain large data sets, primarily in Excel, to provide clean and useable files to appropriate team members.
• Analyze data and dashboards to identify insights and assist in building direct mail strategies.
• Assist in development of direct mail strategies based on data and research.
• Maintain direct marketing calendars for various clients.
• Present findings and analyses for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Include Education and Experience):

Skills

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Data, or a related field.
• Coursework or experience with marketing, direct mail or data-related courses is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and listening skills.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
• Strong skills in Excel required. 
• Experience in Tableau preferred.
• Professional work ethic and a team player.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is a paid internship that will run May 13 - August 9, 2024. 

Location: SA is located in Des Moines, Iowa, but for the right fit, we are open to remote locations throughout the U.S.
