Stratascale is Hiring a Remote Stratascale Security Consultant - Remediation Engineering

Job Summary

The Security Consultant – Remediation Engineering will serve as a subject matter expert in supporting and delivering remediation assistance to customers.

This role will help clients with their remediation efforts for core infrastructure-systems within the environment while assisting in identifying opportunities for automation, process improvements, and industry best practices when implementing changes to complex environments. Security Consultant – Remediation Engineering will also serve as a mentor to other consultants within the practice discipline.

This position will report to the Practice Manager - Security Operations within Stratascale.

This position will report to Charlotte, NC on a hybrid work schedule as determined by Stratascale management.

Responsibilities

Includes, but not limited to:

  • Provide expertise on Patch Management and Remediation services to clients
  • Proactively identify customer needs and requirements through data, customer engagement and other methods to recommend appropriate solutions and service opportunities
  • Support competitive selling motions and guidance to field and team resources
  • Proactively identify customer needs/requirements through data, customer engagement and other methods to recommend appropriate solutions and services opportunities
  • Engage with internal sales and technical teams to support solution sales cycle, qualify opportunities, close open pipeline, scope and ensure successful solution delivery
  • Stay educated on new product technology, tangential team capabilities, and other specific offerings or programs emerging within our company and within the practice industry
  • Identify areas for continued advancement of strategies aligned with Industry direction, client need, practice scope and present solutions to leadership
  • Execute consulting projects by creating deliverables, completing project deliverables successfully, and ensuring client needs and practice obligations are met successfully
  • Provide subject matter expertise on security implications of patches & support to core infrastructure systems to include, but not limited to patching of Windows Servers/Clients, Linux devices, SCCM, DNS, DHCP, and knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Assisting in coordinating remediation activities of customer assets with stakeholders and communicate impacts, expectations, and timelines of efforts.
  • Participate in the development of cross practice training or delegate trainings to team members on practice discipline capability, associated offerings, industry positioning and selling strategies
  • Collaborate with peer practice leaders to develop and optimize cross practice capabilities as appropriate
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in designing, architecting, and delivering remediation solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience required 
  • Minimum 5 years client-facing experience working on complex security engineering-based projects and solutions services
  • Experience with ITIL Processes such as Incident/Problem/Change Management
  • Strong fundamental understanding of patching and securing core infrastructure within organizations and how to best implement security updates and hardening guidelines.
  • Proven understanding of group policies, VMWare, cloud solutions like Azure or AWS, Active Directory or WSUS, and experience writing scripts for process automation of applications databases or scheduling.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in the management and configuration of operating systems, networks, and software including knowledge of OS authentication mechanisms, permissions, and a solid understanding of networking
  • Expert knowledge of supported practice focused product and services
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of operating system and software vulnerabilities.

Certifications Required

Certifications below are preferred but not required:

  • Industry certifications:
    • CompTIA Security
    • Powershell
    • ITIL v3 Foundations Certification, Red Hat Certifications, AWS and MCSE certifications
  • Vendor Solutions and product specific certifications or experience (or equivalent):
    • Microsoft
    • Tanium TCO and TCA
    • Automox
    • Puppet
    • Ansible

Unique Requirements

  • Attend virtual customer meetings when appropriate
  • Travel to customer sites, partner sites, conferences, and Stratascale offices up to 10% annually

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $110,000 - $145,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
