We strive to make Stratas Foods a great place to work and are building a team capable of meeting our business goals.Job DescriptionThis position involves overseeing the quality lab operations as well as assisting the production facility to ensure programs and procedures are in place and properly followed to maintain the highest level of quality products and services to Stratas Foods customers.Advance quality performance and achievement through the plantSelect, discipline, and provide annual and ongoing training of techsAnalyze lab needs from training, staffing, and equipment needs as appropriateCollaborate with colleagues from other locations with respect to troubleshooting and improvementsReview and sign off on employee timecards, vacation, overtimeInvestigate deviations, review batch sheets, etc., approval of deviation if warrantedRepresent the Lab at all daily production and management meetingsPlant sanitarianTroubleshoot, maintenance, and repair of lab equipmentProduct approval in IBM and TLC as necessaryResponsible for GMP training and lab safetyCollect and send samples for customersMonitor programs to make sure preventative maintenance (PMs) is completed for lab equipment Minispec, NIR, etc.Create COAs as neededWrite new procedures and update procedures in policy tech, make sure SOP reviews are being completedPlants main contact and lead for customer, regulatory and third party audits. Complete corrective action report for each audit.Determine lab equipment needs; write AFEs when neededQuarterly AOCS colabs, CAPA, and any other colabs neededAudit/monitor Production line paperwork review, and product approval.Audit/monitor line paperwork review (weight sheets, line QA, and metal detection includes HACCP sign off)Review PR1 (production) analysis. Transfers samples in TLC (approving product to ship) in assistant’s absence. Monitor/audit programComplete Variance Requests, monitor/track/approve quality deviationsReview quality trends for spec reviewComplete POs in Maximo, approve supply purchasesComplete corrective action and preventive action with root cause for quality concernsFood Safety, Food Security, Allergen, FSMA, RSPO, GMP training for plant; complete GMP/Quality tool box meetings with all employeesStart/monitor and complete New Product Approval FormsMaintain Ingredient and Supplier Approval programsMaintain plant internal auditing programComplete and monitor monthly Quality ReportsHACCP team leaderInvestigate, respond and complete customer requests for actionLead customer auditsComplete Vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, hazard analysisComplete monthly plant audits (pest control, HACCP, GMP, glass) or assign and monitorRecords coordinator for plantComplete or assign/monitor mock recallsAssist with monthly plant ingredient inventoryManagement Review meeting: schedule meeting, schedule attendees, prepare agenda, prepare quality presentation material, complete meeting minutes, send out action items and follow upCommunicate with plant personnel regarding any quality concernsPolicy Tech – DCA, maintain all SOPs (new, revisions)Review quality concerns with plant manager, assist with quality decisionsParticipate in plant LEAN manufacturingQualificationsEducation: High School diploma or equivalent is required with desired experience. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in operations, technical, business or engineering; or relevant experience.Related Experience: Experience with lab and/or quality assurance in food packaging is preferred.
