Asphalt Laborer (Construction) Grand Forks, ND
The asphalt laborer will be an essential crew member to the application of asphalt on highways, airports, private roadways, parking lots, and driveways. The laborer will work with other crew members to place asphalt according to plans and specifications as well as perform tasks of other positions as instructed by foreman/superintendent. The laborer must follow all Strata Corporation company policies and procedures for safe working procedures by working in a safe and responsible manner. Must be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, overtime work, weekend work, all work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, work around other heavy equipment and moving machinery, dust and periodic high levels of noise and able to stay out of town. Must be able to get to each job location by own transportation. Must be able to follow Traffic Control instructions and practice safety standards per Strata Safety Policy requirements. Must adhere to PPE (personal protective equipment) and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition as supplied by the company. Must comply with Strata Corporation drug and alcohol testing requirements. The asphalt laborer will be able to operate skid steer or utility tractor to pick up asphalt piles and load into dump trucks, dumping trucks into asphalt paver, shovel asphalt, and operate various other pieces of equipment for asphalt placement.
