Location: Downers Grove, IL

Straight North is seeking a skilled and experienced front-end developer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites that enhance the overall digital experience for our clients' target audiences. You will collaborate closely with designers, copywriters and project managers to bring concepts to life, ensuring seamless integration of design and functionality across various digital platforms. You will also support updates to our company and client websites to improve various aspects of design, functionality, SEO and conversion.
This is a flexible remote/office position in our Downers Grove, IL office requiring one day in the office per week.
Responsibilities

• Develop responsive and interactive front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with designers to translate mockups and wireframes into pixel-perfect UI components.
• Optimize website performance and user experience through efficient coding practices and UI enhancements.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure compatibility and stability across different browsers and devices.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in front-end development, and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of proven experience as a front-end developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your previous work.
• Proficiency in writing custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and a strong understanding of modern front-end frameworks and libraries.
• Experience and understanding of Git workflows and working with Git for all code changes.
• Experience with server-side programming languages is a plus.
• Knowledge of technical SEO best practices.
• Experience with responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility and multiple CMS platforms.
• Familiarity with version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
