StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a full-time Technical Writer, Journeyman (Service Contract Act (SCA) governed position), to support aviation training systems at NAWCTSD in Orlando. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) is the Navy’s principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies. The Technical Writer will be responsible for but not limited to the following requirements.
Essential Job Duties:

- Writing technical materials, such as equipment manuals, Technical Data Package, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions
- Layout work
- Writing Specifications
- Writing Documentation
- Creating, managing parts lists, bills of materials
- Creating mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and build instructions
- Creating user manuals, operator & maintainer manuals for technical systems
- May also assist internal and external Public Affairs communications
Travel Requirements:

Experience Requirements:
- The candidate must have approximately 3 or more years of experience with developing and editing military Technical Documentation
- Experience creating Technical Data Package
- Creating, managing parts lists, bills of materials
- Creating mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and build instructions
- Creating user manuals, operator & maintainer manuals for technical systems
- Practical knowledge and skill in interpersonal communications with civilian and military personnel including the development of oral briefings/presentations, listening techniques, and developing written material, especially technical reports documenting research and analysis performed, e.g., MIL-PRF-29612 and MIL-HDBK-29612
- Practical knowledge and skill in supporting fleet interface data collection, data compilation, data analysis, and analysis report writing.
- Practical knowledge and skill in developing procurement package components to include specifications, proposal plans, Statements of Work, Schedules, Contract Data Requirements Lists, and other documents required for the specific acquisition tasks
- Practical knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office Suite software to produce charts, graphs, databases, or other products for data summarization purposes
- The candidate should have some knowledge of and experience with Government contract and procurement procedures including new contract actions, contract modifications, and product procurement to technical data requirements are satisfied
- Possess the ability to coordinate and integrate the work activities of several different projects at any one time
Education Requirements:
- BA or BS degree in a logistics, business, management, or technical field is preferred
Security Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standard (formerly known as the Service Contract Act of 1965) and the applicable Wage Determination. As such, selected candidates are entitled to both the hourly wages, as well as health and welfare benefits established by the Department of Labor to prevail in the locality. StraCon is fulfilling the health and welfare benefit requirement through the use of a bona fide plan which includes certain insurance coverage.
