Summary of Role

STP is looking for an Implementation-Conversion Manager in our Institutional vertical. You as the Implementation manager will have the opportunity to develop efficient conversion practices along with your internal department partners. You will manage your conversion projects, track risks and action items, and convert new clients onto our platform. A solid understanding of Institutional / Middle office is critical in this role, along with the ability to manage clients with a passion for client service and knowing when to appropriately raise risks. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong project management skills as well as being detailed oriented and able to manage internal and client project partners.

What you’ll do

  • ·Organize, manage, and lead client and internal calls on complex Investment Management middle-office outsourcing implementations/transformations.
  •  Manage development team and client expectations as it relates to the data conversion and interfacing components of the implementation.
  •  Work with clients and/or internal partners to gather requirements and manage those to devise, document, develop and implement solutions and complete their tasks for a successful project. 
  •  Interact directly with the Operations, Systems, Software, Project Management, and Professional Services teams to ensure that tasks, business & technical requirements, and rigorous testing are well defined, tracked adequately with metrics, remain on schedule, and are delivered on time and of extremely high-quality.
  •  Define and lead the implementation of Institutional workflows, applying best practices and process efficiencies.
  •  Lead efforts to ensure all inbound and outbound interfaces are extremely robust to support the daily and intra-day communication of mission critical trading information.
  • Perform complex data mapping to facilitate loading of client data from legacy systems to the STP accounting/platform infrastructure.
  • Review portfolio accounting data used to generate client reporting to ensure successful implementation onto STP platforms.
  • Administer client data conversions and serve as lead during any client parallel phase ensuring accuracy of books and records in STP platforms - work to resolve issues
  • Load and validate historical performance returns to ensure accuracy for business-as-usual handoff.
  • Track open requirement items until closure. Flag any potential service delivery issues as early as possible, escalate with other team members and managers.
  • Adhere to deadlines, communicate delays to manager and ensure work is completed as expected to ensure agreed 'live' dates are met.
  • Lead any training required to the business-as-usual team and/or the client to ensure knowledge transfer is completed to ensure a successful client launch.
  • On-going review of implementation controls and procedures. 
  • Assist in user acceptance testing.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following

  • Strong technical competency around data mapping and conversion activities, interface design specifications within the Institutional middle office space
  • Strong understanding of investment data including simple and complex asset types, transactions, performance measurement and risk data. Also strong understanding of the investment management output expected from our clients and their end-Institutional clients.
  • Strong understanding of the daily investment process, data flows and linkages across a global operating model.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Time Management and ability to prioritize.
  • Proven collaboration and teamwork skills.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Experience with Order Management Systems (e.g. Charles River, Longview, EZE).
  • Experience with Capital Markets Data Services (e.g. Bloomberg, RIMES, ICE, Reuters).
  • Experience with currently used software systems (e.g. JIRA). 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, Management, Information Systems, or other relevant major or a combination of education/experience.
  • 5 years Institutional / Middle office Investment Management industry experience.
  • 3 years Eagle STAR/PACE experience.
  • 3 years of project experience collaborating with a global team.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of the treatment of complex financial instruments from an accounting standpoint.
  • Strong client management skills and ability to build key relationships.
  • Experience with implementing process improvement methodology and/or demonstrated experience with efficiency improvement.
  • Experience interfacing directly with clients within Financial Markets.
  • Experience in business process re-engineering, business systems analysis, process improvement involving broad-based information systems utilizing tools and techniques required.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and deliver results in our dynamic environment.
  • Must be enthusiastic, diligent, and take initiative and pride in their work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the technology and operations teams, including the use of collaboration tools, source control, documentation, and bug tracking.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision within a structured environment.
