Summary/Objective

The Business Analyst II role is an exciting opportunity within STP’s Product group to drive the design, development, and delivery of a proprietary FinTech platform supporting the global investment and wealth management industries.

A successful Business Analyst is a critical problem-solver and responsible for the research, analysis, and creation of business and technical requirements to ensure successful delivery of innovative software solutions. The candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand underlying client needs and to solve complex problems.

Essential Functions

• Document a clear definition of the business problem from internal stakeholders and customers
• Document business requirements and technical specifications for development teams to program
• Collaborate with UI/UX team to design elegant prototypes to be used for development
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to document acceptance criteria
• Lead grooming sessions with Agile development team and clearly communicate the reasons, requirements, and definition of success
• Manage daily working sessions with Agile development team
• Manage work backlog in line with strategic product vision and roadmaps
• Assist in User Acceptance Testing to ensure successful client delivery
• Assist in documentation of release notes and customer training 
• Interact directly with the Operations, Development, QA, Sales, and Client Service teams to ensure that business and technical requirements are well defined, tracked, remain on schedule, and are delivered on time.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. 

Travel

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant experience
• 3 years of experience in Business Analyst role
• Experience with Agile and Iterative software development frameworks
• Experience with software development management/tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Education and Experience

• Financial Services experience, preferably in Investment Management or Wealth Management industries
• Working knowledge of SQL 
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Experience working with applications utilizing a microservices architecture framework
• Experience working with Angular applications
