STOUGHTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring a Special Education - SEL Program Elementary - Self-Contained Near Stoughton, MA

Hansen Elementary School has a Special Education teacher opening to work in a self-contained classroom for students with Emotional Impairments for the 2024-2025 school year. Proper DESE certification required.Provide special education students with appropriate learning activities and assignments designed to address intellectual, emotional, and social growth within the context of both a self-contained and inclusion setting. Develop and modify curricula and prepare lessons and instructional materials according to ability levels and in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Certification Requirement: Severe Disabilities certification or Moderate Disabilities Licensure.Performance Responsibilities: Instruct Special Education students across general ed and special ed settings by providing accommodations, and modifications to the core curriculum.Instruct Special Education students outside of the general education setting in small group models focusing on social emotional regulationDemonstrate knowledge of state and federal regulations for special education.Develop Individualized Educational Plans for students within one's caseload.Maintain data-based records and anecdotal records on each student's progress as required.Be responsible for monitoring and initiating revisions of I.E.P.s to ensure the relevance of activities to each child's current needs, and to ensure his/her full educational benefit.Meet with parents regularly to discuss education-related issues.Supervise and train paraprofessionals and other staff to provide the maximum utilization of their time and skill.
Provide clear and concise direction, instruction, and evaluation to all classroom staff.Attend and participate as requested in school meetings.Coordinate with specialists (PT, OT, Speech, BCBA) to facilitate therapeutic strategies across all content areas.Conduct evaluations relative to Special Education Eligibility.Schedule and Chair Annual Team Meetings.Implement MCAS accommodations as indicated by the students IEPs.
