Architectural Job Captain

HYBRID POSITION

IN OFFICE 2 DAYS PER WEEK Reporting to Sr. Architectural Project Manager & Team Lead

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Administer and Guide

As the Architectural Job Captain, you'll lead design projects, ensuring adherence to building codes and specifications. Under the Project Manager and Architect's direction, you'll manage technical designs and documents using software like Revit, Bluebeam, Revu, and AutoCAD;

driving projects from concept to construction with a focus on compliance and design integrity.

Coordinate and Communicate

In this role, you'll be the key liaison between project teams, clients, and consultants, discerning project requirements and guiding designs to meet client approval.

You'll collaborate with Architectural Project Managers, and other members of the team to help manage the project's documentation requirements, timeline, and you’ll streamline communication while ensuring project milestones are achieved efficiently.

Ensure Excellence, Integration, and Compliance

Your dedication to quality will see you verifying documentation accuracy, and ensuring project compliance, implementing Project Manager QA / QC reviews.

You’ll deliver contract documents, and guarantee that architectural designs are perfectly integrated with all project aspects, leading to exemplary finished projects.

WHAT SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE You are accountable for ensuring smooth project navigation from concept to completion.

  • You’re the go-to person who administrates our architectural projects, and ensures the project follows building codes.
  • You’ll interact and consult with our clients to discern a project’s specifications and you’ll help guide the interpretation and direction of designs.
  • You’ll prepare and submit drawings and renderings for approval and cross-collaborate with the team and make needed corrections.
  • You'll be able to use construction modeling software like AutoCAD, Revit, and others to create schematics.
  • You’ll demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with the confidence to multi-task and delegate as required.
  • You’ll visit architectural work sites and take measurements of structures and spaces if necessary.
  • You’ll review drawings for accuracy and ensure construction documents reflect as-built conditions.
  • You’ll work to ensure the architectural team's alignment with the studio's strategic priorities.
  • You’ll contribute to a positive work culture and uphold our core values.

Skills and Qualifications

You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in architectural design, building codes, and construction documentation.

Throughout your career, you have consistently demonstrated a keen eye for detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Your expertise shines through as a rock star in Revit, Bluebeam, Revu and AutoCAD

Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ensuring effective and clear conveyance of ideas and information.

Highlight strong interpersonal skills, emphasizing your commitment to fostering positive relationships within the team, thereby contributing to a collaborative and productive work environment.

You’ve got some experience working with projects involving churches, non-profit, or faith based organizations.

You’re able to work in our main office in Corona, California two days out of the week (Thursdays, and Fridays)

You like forests, but you love trees! You have the uncanny ability to see the big picture but the detail orientation not to miss the small things that make or break a package.

You possess Jedi-level knowledge of CAD-based systems (Autodesk Architecture 2019 preferred), Revit, and Microsoft Windows-based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

If you have 3-D modeling experience, that would be amazing, but not required.

You have proficient knowledge of many federal, state, and local building codes and how to navigate regulations.

Your prioritization skills are breathtaking!

While you can carry a lot on your own, you enjoy having a pack and work well on team.

You have the ability to provide advice and recommendations in an informed and confident manner.

You build teams. It’s one of the things you’re most proud of.

You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You love closing the loop and ensuring project leaders have pertinent information to manage client expectations.
