Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of coaching and/or playing experience at the college level in the sport of Men's Soccer. In lieu of college level coaching experience, a combination of four (4) years of coaching experience at the high school, college, professional or national team level and/or playing experience at the college, professional or national team level in the sport of Men's Soccer will be considered. Understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules (played a Division I, II or III sport, coached in collegiate athletics or as a staff member in a collegiate athletic program).
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with recruiting. Prior experience with skill instruction. Prior experience with practice and game plan development. Experience with administrative responsibilities in the sport of Men's Soccer (team scheduling, budget preparation & administration, facility usage, public relations, fundraising, community service and other daily operations for the program). Previous experience with a Division I Men's Soccer Program.Brief Description of Duties:The Assistant Coach for a Division I program in the sport of Men's Soccer will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a successful program. The primary focus of this position will be placed on the use of independent judgment and discretion in the identification & recruitment of prospective student-athletes, the awarding of athletics scholarships, the instructing and skill development of student-athletes during their athletic and educational tenure, and the daily administrative operations of their respective sport program. The Assistant Coach will be evaluated on the extent to which they provide each student-athlete with a positive, meaningful, and educational experience through athletics. The incumbent will also execute other program-related duties as assigned by the Head Men's Soccer Coach.
Special Notes:This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
