SCHEDULE: 7A -7P (34.50 - 46 TOTAL WEEKLY HOURS)

Position Description: Utilizes the nursing process in diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provisions of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being. Experience: One (1) years' emergency department/telemetry/critical care experience required. Two (2) years' emergency department/telemetry/critical care experience preferred. One (1) year Trauma Nurse Core Course experience preferred. Has demonstrated competence as a nurse. Has demonstrated a commitment to continued professional development.
Qualifications: Licensed and currently registered in New York State as a professional nurse. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Basic Life Support ("BLS"), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ("ACLS") and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS") required. Telemetry/Critical Care mandatory. Trauma Nurse Core Course ("TNCC") preferred.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift or assist in lifting a client from bed to chair to standing or vice versa. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively communicate orally in an emergent situation. Must be able to use stairs in an emergent situation. Must be able to walk, carry semi-heavy equipment and reach overhead. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with clients or associates.

**Sign-On Bonus**

  • About the Sign-On Bonus**: We offer a sign-on bonus as part of our compensation package to attract top talent to our team.
  • Bonus Payment**: If you accept our sign-on bonus, you will receive your first bonus payment upon the successful completion of six months employment. Bonus payments will be made in six month increments, in equal installments over the duration of the sign on bonus. Depending on the total bonus amount, bonus payments may be scheduled to be made for up to 24 months, subject to eligible employment and terms of payment during that time period. You must be employed at the time of payment to be eligible.
  • Tax Withholdings**: Please be aware that bonus payments are subject to tax withholdings under supplemental income. You should consult with a tax professional for guidance.
  • $20,000 - 4 payments of $5,000 every 6 months over 2 years.

Note: The specific terms of the sign-on bonus may vary based on our company policies and local employment laws. We will provide full details in the offer letter for your review and acceptance.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton's Employee Health Services*
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

  • The Human Resources department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.
