- Knows normal lab and ABG values for neonates
- Performs clinical nursing duties for neonates and infants according to policy and procedures. Maintains patient individualized standards of care.
- Performs neonatal assessment and provides appropriate intervention
- Recognized physiological changes in the newborn and responds appropriately
- Notifies physician promptly of non-reassuring newborn status
- Provides direct nursing care for the newborn in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- STABLE must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
