What You Will Do as the Unit Manager (RN)

As a Stonerise Unit Manager (RN), you will oversee direct nursing care and develop individualized plans of care. You will assist or lead in coordinating care of individuals on the unit with the patient, physician, family, and other staff.

Some of your primary responsibilities include:

  • Performing initial patient assessment, or ensuring timely, accurate completion by others
  • Identifying patient’s physical and psychological needs, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop plans of care to meet these needs
  • Administering medications/treatments as prescribed by the physician and assessing patient’s response to medications/treatments
  • Organizing patient care assignments to meet needs
  • Making rounds with physician weekly or as needed
  • Transcribing or reviewing physicians’ orders correctly and completing necessary paperwork to ensure completion
  • Ensuring all assigned patients are seen by their attending physician within 48 hours of admission
  • Implementing patient and family education plans when appropriate
  • Communicating with nursing team and other department staff regarding patient status and response to treatment
  • Maintaining patient’s safety, comfort, and peace of mind, monitoring and assuring that preventative measures are taken

  • Active RN license in the state of practice
  • Maintain current CPR certification
  • Experience in supervising others
