CMA- Certified Medication Aide
As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), you will prepare, administer and document medications given to facility residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) within regulatory time frames. In addition, the CMA will monitor residents’ vital signs as indicated; observe residents for expected actions; observe reportable, suspected and adverse reactions to medications administered; and prepare verbal and written reports related to successful or unsuccessful medication administration, changes in resident condition and/or departures from usual and routine
Job Responsibilities
As a Certified Medication Aide, you will prepare and administer oral, topical and suppository medications to residents as prescribed by the physician. You will also count and calculate dosages on a daily basis and document the number of scheduled drugs at the beginning and end of each shift.
