Blue River Metal is seeking a skilled CNC Brake Press Operator to join our dynamic team. As a CNC Brake Press Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, operating a shear and press brake machinery to cut, bend, shape, and form metal sheets according to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate shear and CNC press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form metal sheets accurately.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine specifications for bending and forming metal.
• Select appropriate tooling and dies for each job, ensuring proper setup and alignment.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, completeness, and quality before releasing them for further processing.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and meet production goals.
• Document production activities, including materials used, time spent, and production quantities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Brake Operator or similar role in metal fabrication.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in operating press brake machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in performing tasks.
• Proficient mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical training in metal fabrication or related field.
• Prior experience with CNC press brakes.
• Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Forklift certification.
