Lab Technician (NON-MEDICAL)

Description:

This position prefers a bachelor's degree in a science-related field, minimum of two years working in a non-medical laboratory setting, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, computer literacy, self-motivation, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment. A two-year science degree will be considered with appropriate years of experience.

Responsibilities – This position will:

  • Work with Chemist and/or Project Manager to bring development and testing projects to completion
  • Prepare samples for testing
  • Develop and implement test methods
  • Test paints and coatings to specific test methods/standards (ASTM, DIN, ISO, Federal or in-house test methods)
  • Document results of tests and analysis and maintain lab books in an acceptable manner
  • Maintain all test results in electronic database
  • Measure and record, with minimal assistance, expected and unexpected results accurately and in detail for all assignments
  • Plan and schedule routine assignments and project work with minimal assistance in a timely and logical manner to meet customer deadlines
  • Be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Contribute to customer proposals, communications and technical reports

Expectations – Candidates must be able to:

  • Understand product tests and testing
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and solve problems with samples, testing, equipment, etc.
  • Manage multiple priorities
  • Meet deadlines and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Draw conclusions from work
  • Respond to internal customer needs and requirements
  • Demonstrate a more extensive understanding of sample preparation and testing and apply knowledge learned to new projects

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
