Job Description

Construction Surveyor:3 – 5 years

Division/Department: Heavy Civil Construction

Reports to: Superintendent/Project Manager

Job Classification: Hourly

Our Idaho Team is rapidly growing in the Pocatello and Soda Springs area. We provide our clients with highly skilled teams that perform projects that include earthwork, underground utilities, wastewater ponds, reclamation, compressor pump stations, gas processing facilities, wastewater treatment plants, tilt up concrete structures, sub stations, and mass concrete. Construction Surveyors will work under direct supervision of the jobsite Superintendent and Project Manager. To be successful in this role, you must be detail oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently and independently to meet crucial deadlines. The Construction Surveyor will be responsible for survey and construction stake out on multiple locations. All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, lift 50 lbs., and have a strong commitment to safety. A typical work schedule is 50-60 hours per week.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

· Construction surveying, utilizing Trimble GPS and Total Station assets.

· SCS900, GCS900, and Trimble Earthworks.

· Knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Trimble Business Center, DWG Viewer, BIM 360 Glue.

· Knowledge of transit lasers and pipe layers is preferred.

· A professional license is not required but is a plus.

· Possess the ability to read and understand construction drawings, project standards and specifications, as well as industry standards and best practices.

· Always adhere to strict safety policies and procedures.

· Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor.

· Wear all company required Personal Protective Equipment.

· Use tools in a safe manner to minimize the risk of injury and property damage.

· Perform daily equipment/tool inspections checks. Ensure that tools are clean, properly shut down, and stored at the end of the shift.

· Maintain cleanliness at the jobsite.

· Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

· High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus.

· OSHA 10/30 preferred, but not required.

· Must be 18 years of age.

· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, must meet company vehicle insurance policy requirements.

· Positive attitude and work ethic.

· Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and clients.

Working Environment and Conditions

This position requires working indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is regularly exposed to wind, sun, rain, and cold weather.

Essential Job Functions

· Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.

· Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

· The employee will lift, push, pull, and carry objects using abdominal and lower back muscles.

· Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limbed coordination.

· The employee will need to have the ability to traverse uneven surfaces for potentially long distances or extended durations.
