Production Supervisor

Position Title: Production Supervisor 

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Reports To: Production Manager 

Location: Three Forks, Montana

Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Production Supervisor at Wheat Montana Bakery plays a pivotal role in ensuring that bakery operations run seamlessly and efficiently. Overseeing a team of workers across various stages of production, the supervisor ensures that bakery products are made to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Oversight: Direct and manage all production activities during the shift, ensuring smooth operations from ingredient scaling to final packaging.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of bakery operators, ensuring optimal performance.
  3. Quality Control: Monitor production processes to ensure that products meet defined quality standards.
  4. Safety Enforcement: Enforce safety guidelines, ensuring that all staff members adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment as needed.
  5. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and work to implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  6. Budget Management: Monitor and control production-related expenses, ensuring operations remain within the budget.
  7. Training and Development: Ensure that all team members are adequately trained, and provide ongoing development opportunities.
  8. Coordination: Work closely with other departments, such as logistics, sales, and procurement, to ensure a cohesive workflow.
  9. Reporting: Compile and present production metrics, challenges, and successes to upper management.
  10. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise among team members or in production processes.
  11. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure that all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  12. Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  13. Other Duties: Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager or upper management.

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications:
• Several years of experience in a supervisory role within a bakery or food production setting. • Proficiency in bakery operations and machinery. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to move around the facility frequently, inspect various stages of production, and be on one's feet for extended periods.

Training Requirements:
Aligned with the SQF Code 9, the Production Supervisor will undergo training in:

  1. All requirements of Bakery Generalist
  2. Food Safety Team Training
  3. SQF and FMSA related
  4. General HAACP
  5. Advanced Safety Protocols and Regulations
  6. Leadership and People Management Techniques
  7. Quality Assurance and Control Procedures
  8. Supply Chain and Inventory Management
