Stolle Machinery is Hiring a Production Planner Near Dayton, OH

Job Summary (the purpose and general nature of the job):

Responsible for creating and maintaining Dispatch Lists for our machine shop. This position entails lining up WIP for approximately 35 work centers. This position works closely with operators and the management team. The Planner will communicate the urgent orders to the shop floor as well updating sales on order status. You will be responsible for being prepared for biweekly production meetings. The Planner role will also be responsible for maintaining daily and weekly reports.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following:

  • Must be organized, able to make decisions and prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to achieve on-time deliveries.
  • Create and distribute Dispatch List daily.
  • Update shop order routings as instructed.
  • Create shop orders as required.
  • Process scrap and rework orders.
  • Understanding of BOMs.
  • Ability to effectively balance team and individual responsibilities, exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views and give and welcome feedback.
  • Monitor and line up WIP by work center.
  • Review dispatch list for non-moving shop orders.
  • Communicate status of customer purchase order to customer when required.
  • Create and maintain various reports related shop metrics.
  • Creates orders for service.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience: Education

  • 4-year degree or 2-year degree/certificate with an acceptable amount of additional direct production planning experience/training in a manufacturing environment

Experience

  • 2-4 years direct production planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing MRP / ERP environment.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, engineering specifications, bills of material, and engineering change orders.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including MRP/ERP system experience and good skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Oracle system experience a plus.
  • Must have a good understanding of shop floor control, material flow, and production reporting and inventory control processes.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing operations, assembly sequences, and basic mechanical concepts.

This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

  • Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week.
