HEAVY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

St Louis Composting, producer of STA-Certified Compost, Mulch Products and Soil Blends, is accepting applications for future consideration for a Diesel Mechanic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, repair, adjust and/or replace defective or worn equipment components.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, inspecting and conducting routine services
  • Orders parts, communicates status and annotates corrective actions
  • Comfortable working in a sometimes fast paced environment while maintaining flexibility.
  • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for each task
  • Performing major repair work when required
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possesses a valid US driver's license and your own tools (Specialty tools provided)
  • Experience repairing Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo equipment to include wheeled loaders, and tracked equipment.
  • 2 years of experience with stick welding & wire welding and fabrication
  • Able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Experience with grinders, screeners and conveyors is a plus.
