DEISEL TECHNICIAN

St Louis Composting, producer of STA-Certified Compost, Mulch Products and Soil Blends, is accepting applications for future consideration for a Diesel Mechanic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs maintenance on semi tractors, trailers and completes DOT inspections.
  • Follows preventative maintenance procedures as established by company standards.
  • Perform diagnostic tests on diesel engines, interpreting the results for resolution.
  • Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, clutches, engines and other associated parts.
  • Orders parts, communicates status and annotates corrective actions
  • Comfortable working in a sometimes fast paced environment while maintaining flexibility.
  • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possesses a valid US driver's license and has their own tools. (specialty tools provided)
  • Qualified to perform DOT inspections, and follow company preventative maintenance procedures.
  • At least 2 years of experience with emissions, aftertreatment systems, electrical, air conditioning, powertrain and suspension systems.
  • Experience with PTO hydraulic systems
  • Experience with Paccar, Cummins, Caterpillar and Mack power plants
  • Welding and metal fabricating experience
  • Certified on Brakes and air conditioning systems
  • Able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time, etc.
  • Other duties as directed.
