Overview The Office Assistant is responsible for processing all incoming orders by telephone, fax, and walk-in customers. Essential Job Functions
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Receive and process customer orders in accordance with company procedure.
Using product knowledge, work with customers to ensure they are ordering the appropriate items for their business.
Work with warehouse personnel to insure proper picking and delivery of product.
Backup to warehouse for gathering paperwork.
Assist in inputting inventory counts.
Print warehouse tags for shelves and totes.
Print customer price books as needed.
Scan all invoices, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable paperwork into Laserfiche.
Balance and report all A/R's to finance weekly and at month end.
Backup to Pricing Specialist by verifying receiving documents.
Keep customer order sheets updated with new products.
Order office supplies and act as point of contact for office equipment repair needs.
Complete clerical tasks as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or Equivalent is required.
Previous experience in an office environment preferred.
Work is performed under normal working conditions in a temperature-controlled environment.
May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
May be required to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
This position is a full time role, averaging 30-40 hours/week.
Other Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, 10 Key and the Internet.
Ability to work independently and be flexible with work schedules.
Must possess the ability to learn new concepts, be organized and stay attentive to detail while multi-tasking.
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Ability to maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
