JOB SUMMARY:

A registered, competent, professional nurse who supervises, directs, and supports the nursing staff on that shift. Has strong clinical and problems solving skills. Acts as administrative representative of the hospital on her/his shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Satisfactory work experience demonstrating nursing knowledge and skills, interest, leadership, and willingness to accept responsibility.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma.
Minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting as a staff nurse with, preferably, at least one year in a specialty unit (ER/ICU/L&D).
One year of management experience preferred.
BSN preferred.
Credentials from ANA or professional specialty organization.
Demonstrated commendable performance as RN II, III or charge nurse.
Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment.
Current ACLS certification or completion within 1 year of employment.
Current PALS certification or completion within 1 year of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations.
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and write.
Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.
Able to hear, see, and read to accurately assess, monitor, and administered care.
Able to frequently life at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
Possess fine monitor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, start IV's administer medications, and handle instruments.
