Stillwater Area Public Schools are currently seeking a 1.0 FTE Lead Band Director to work at Stillwater Area High School for the 2023-2024 school year. A teaching license in instrumental music through the Minnesota Department of Education is required. A Master’s degree in music education, conducting or performance is preferred for candidates to teach concurrent enrollment classes.

Located in historic Stillwater in the scenic St. Croix River Valley
Recently fully remodeled music suite with multiple rehearsal rooms
Concurrent enrollment partnership with Century College for the top ensembles in the SAHS Music department
The Stillwater Area High School bands celebrate 96 years of excellence in music performance

Department / Curriculum / School Support:

Courses in Department: Four levels of concert bands, percussion ensemble and music theory. The top ensemble receives college credit and a weighted grade
Formal school-based mentor program with 1:1 mentors
2 Instructional coaches and 1 Technology coach
