Stifel is Hiring an IT Product Support Engineer - Data Movement Near Saint Louis, MO

Job Summary

The Product Support Engineer-Data Movement ensures that our corporate file transfer services' reliability, availability, security, and ease of use are maintained to business expectations. This role will act as subject matter expert for the service while collaborating with IT and business teams during the onboarding, change, or file transfer services. The Product Support Engineer will be able to work independently, present platform-related information, and provide training as required. This role is responsible for efficiently managing service events (tickets) and work requests, participating in an on-call rotation, and supporting the team by maintaining good documentation in our shared repository and ticketing systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and develops technical solutions related to software and setup errors for field engineers, technicians, and customers.
  • Creates workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved promptly.
  • Escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge of appropriate internal resources.
  • Update and maintain internal software documentation.
  • Coordinates with internal departments to ensure organizational and or client requirements are met.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots reported issues and provides technical support as needed.
  • Administers time-critical business services.
  • Provides technical training to clients or internal users.

Qualifications

  • Scripting experience - Powershell, Python, PHP.
  • Managed File Transfer Tools (MFT/EFT).
  • Familiarity with Data Transfer protocols FTP/SFTP/HTTPS and related Ciphers and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with Orchestration/Automation tools and methodologies.
  • Strong documentation skills and mindset.
  • Experience in a consultative role working with Business and IT to develop solutions.
  • Familiar with administering time-critical business services.
  • Demonstrate strong task management (ticket queues) and project experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and make decisions based on business needs and interests.
  • Experience with IT Infrastructure and protocols for moving, securing, and storing data.
  • Familiarity with HA/DR best practices and configurations.
  • Familiarity with Software Development best practices is preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a combination of education and experience.
  • 1 years of experience installing/supporting applications, hardware support/maintenance, and directly engaging business users.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cloud-based services, version control tools, and log analysis is preferred.

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Agile, Kanban, and DevOps is preferred.
