Stewart & Tate is Hiring a Safety Specialist Near York, PA

Description

Summary

This positon supports Environmental, Health, Safety & Security efforts for Stewart & Tate and all 

of its affiliated companies which include Stewart and Tate, Inc., Stewart & Tate Construction, 

Lewis Contractors, and Riley Welding & Fabricating.

Essential Functions

  •  Investigate incidents and helps identify corrective actions. 
  •  Provide professional knowledge in safety and health to field operations.
  •  Provide support in progress meetings with subcontractors, clients, and Project Team. 
  •  Ability to understand and communicate current and future project safety issues with the Project Team, Superintendents, and Foremen. 
  •  Promote the Corporate Safety and Health programs and policies and ensure that they are being followed in the field.
  •  Develop training and educational materials for the business unit’s needs. Conduct monthly, annual, and all other required safety training.
  •  Conduct New Hire Orientation and complete all new hire paperwork.
  •  Conduct field safety audits to ensure compliance at all locations. Follow up to ensure corrective actions have been taken.
  •  Establish relationships with Plant Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel to better support their needs. 
  •  Ensure site specific safety programs are developed at all locations (i.e. Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, etc.).
  •  Complete all administrative assignments identified by the Director of Safety. Update and track all documentation, certifications, and any other required paperwork through SiteDocs. 
  •  Conduct industrial hygiene sampling when needed. 
  •  Assist with Forklift, Aerial Lift, Scissor Lift, and First Aid/CPR/AED training.
  •  Provide additional support where needed. 
  •  Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

Competencies

  •  Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism when working with employees, customers and business associates.
  •  Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  •  Extensive knowledge of and/or experience with the rules and regulations of Workers Comp, OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and the EPA

None

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently visits job site locations and may occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, walking, standing and lifting are expected.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
