Kitchen Assistant Manager Full Time Hourly – $25.00 - $28.00 per hourMust be at least 18 years and older Position Description:As a Kitchen Assistant Manager you are responsible for food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency. You will also be responsible for planning, controlling, organizing and directing your team in your department. Your day-to-day: Inspire our customers to prepare products successfully at home by offering meal suggestions and cooking techniques.Assist in planning and developing of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation through production and demonstration.Ensure the salad bar and displays are merchandised and appropriate signage is visibleEnsure displays are full and product is rotated appropriatelyEnsure daily production plan is metShow and sell and cross merchandise whenever possibleReview One Idea Report to identify opportunities to achieve goalsPlace orders with vendors and transfers, when neededParticipate in monthly, quarterly and yearly department inventoriesAssist in hiring, promoting , and training team membersProvide timely feedback by completing and delivering comprehensive 90 day and mid-year Performance ChatsProvide feedback to department manager for Annual Performance AppraisalsConduct and/or actively participate in monthly department communication meetingsAddress disciplinary issues in a timely fashionEnsure compliance with all employment lawsEnsure the department is in compliance with all health codes, sanitation and safety regulationsEnsure representation is present at all monthly Safety Committee MeetingsConduct/oversee daily/periodic department cleaningAny other projects, as neededOversee daily production to sales within the department to control over/ under sales.Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years’ culinary experience. Successful completion of an accredited culinary program preferred, but not a requirementSafely operate a choppers, ovens, fryers and all other equipment used in the day to day operation of the kitchen departmentDemonstrate safe knife handling skillsDemonstrate an understanding of product costing and how to minimize wasteDemonstrate a basic knowledge of simple math (measurements and conversions for recipes)Great customer service skillsGood computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook and the HRIS, purchase order/transfer, and item maintenance systemsGood communications skills, both written and oralGood organizational skillsThe ability to delegate tasks and give clear directionsThe ability to multi-taskThe ability to supervise a team and lead cook work experience. What you bring to the team: Lead by exampleExcellent work ethicExcellent interpersonal skillHonestConfidentialQuick thinkerThe ability to problem solverFirm, but fairFlexible Working Conditions: The temperature in the department can be warmer than room temperature due to the ovens, fryers and other equipment used in department productionExposure to different weather conditions may be possible when the seasonal grill is in operation (April to October)Exposure to smoke produced by grills and grease and oil from fryers may be possibleThe position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and reach is required with a maximum of 50lbs. Satisfy:Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude, ensuring that each customer feels welcome and appreciated.Teamwork:Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store, offering assistance and support where needed.Excellence:Improve and maintain the efficiency of the store in order to reach success.
