Steve Silver Company has an immediate opening for Over the Road Drivers.Steve Silver Company is a local, reputable wholesale furniture distributor and an industry leading importer of dining, home office, and outdoor furniture with extensive overseas sourcing and quality control expertise on the ground throughout Asia. The company operates from a 500,000 square foot warehouse and distribution facility in Forney, Texas and a second state-of-the art 400,000 square foot warehouse and distribution facility in Mesquite, Texas. - Operate tractor/trailer in interstate commerce capacity.
- Represent Steve Silver Company to customers in a professional and positive manner.
- Deliver cargo to customers in an efficient and timely manner.
- Conduct comprehensive pre and post trip inspections on both tractor and trailer.
- Understand and effectively operate electronic logging device.
- Accurately and legibly complete all required paperwork. Properly load, unload, and secure all cargo.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds as required, more than 4ft high. Read, understand, and apply information relating to route and delivery schedule to maintain legality in routing of stops.
- Communicate with customers and dispatch regarding assignments and delivery appointments.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid class A CDL
- One year’s experience driving tractor/trailer.
- Must possess a current DOT medical physical.
- Interstate commerce experience preferred.
- No more than two moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the last three years.
