Job Summary :

The Apprentice Service Technician at Sternberg Automotive Chrysler Center in Jasper, Indiana is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry.

As an individual contributor, the Apprentice Service Technician will assist experienced technicians in various duties related to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Compensation & Benefits :

The compensation for this position is $39,000 to $50,000 per year, paid biweekly.

Responsibilities :

• Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
• Learn and use dealership and manufacturer software and equipment
• Attend training sessions and workshops to improve skills and knowledge
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers
• Follow all company policies and procedures

Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a vocational or technical program in automotive technology preferred
• Some prior experience in a related field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as tires and equipment
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of automotive software and systems
