My client, an International Manufacturer with over $900MM in global sales, is a leader in the carbon and graphite products industry. They are currently hiring a Research Engineer for Powdered Materials at their growing location in Nashville, TN. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop new products, improve existing products, and optimize manufacturing processes. REQUIREMENTS:

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the company's involvement in U.S. Defense Department projects, subject to ITAR rules.
• Minimum requirement is a B.S. degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering. A M.S. degree is strongly preferred but not required.
• 2 to 4 years of experience working with graphite materials and production methods such as pressing, extrusion, and/or isostatic.
• Experience in materials engineering related to ceramics, carbon, graphite, and/or powdered metals is essential.
• Proficiency in high-temperature materials processing is required.
• Strong project management skills are preferred.
• Must be proficient in experimental design, statistics, and data analysis (DOE, ANOVA).
• Ability to work within a team environment while also being a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Experience or familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Methods / Operational Excellence is advantageous but not mandatory.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $90K to $100K base salary plus 5% bonus.
