The Production Manager position is responsible for overseeing the production operations at our facility in Conyers, GA. This includes managing manufacturing schedules, implementing efficient production methods and procedures, and ensuring the proper functioning of machines and equipment.

The Production Manager will lead the plant team in setting and achieving objectives related to production volumes, quality, safety, inventory, customer satisfaction, and fiscal budgets.

Job responsibilities :

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide recommendations for process enhancements to the General Manager.
• Adjust production schedules and priorities in response to equipment failures, operational issues, or last-minute customer requests.
• Analyze production reports to identify nonconformities and resolve operating or production problems.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement operating methods and procedures that improve product quality and eliminate operational issues.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth production and timely shipment, preventing any delays and maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all standards and customer commitments, such as safety protocols, waste reduction plans, output targets, and on-time delivery.
• Work with the Plant Safety Manager to enforce the safety program and ensure a safe working environment.
• Plan workforce staffing to maintain productivity and meet customer requirements.
• Maintain positive relations with the union in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Identify training and development opportunities for Production Supervisors and track progress towards performance goals.
• Collaborate effectively with others to achieve common objectives, maintain trust and respect, and handle conflicts constructively.
• Adapt approach and strategies to changing demands, processes, and information to achieve desired results.
• Hold oneself and others accountable for actions and results.
• Create and deliver engaging presentations to internal and external audiences, using effective communication strategies.
• Use problem-solving skills and supporting information to make optimal decisions within appropriate timeframes.

Requirements :

• High School diploma or G.E.D - Required
• Associate degree or higher in Business, Applied Science, or Technical field - Preferred
• Experience in the corrugated industry, preferably with BHS machines - Required
• 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
• Knowledge of machinery and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ability to measure employee performance using multiple methods
• Proven experience with lean and continuous improvement
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software programs for corrugated manufacturing systems
