REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

JOB POSITION: Full Time, Exempt
LOCATION: Des Plaines, IL 60016 (Chicago Area) – 4 Days in Office, 1 Day Remote

Position Overview:

The Sales and Marketing Manager is a key leader in the organization responsible for maximizing revenue. A new position in the organization, the Manager will leverage their domain expertise and outstanding communication skills to inspire innovation and cross-functional collaboration. By designing and implementing new processes and measuring results, the Manager will focus on customer acquisition and retention to capitalize upon growth opportunities.

Key Initiatives:

Make It Happen. If you can dream it, you can do it. We are looking for someone who is an expert in strategy and planning and is also excited about putting that plan into action themselves.

  • Rev Up Revenue: Continuously grow topline revenue in P&L.
  • Drive Leads: Generate new leads by identifying customer segments, developing effective communication, conducting outreach, and honing the marketing mix within budget.
  • Close Contracts: Optimize inquiry-to-customer conversion ratio by establishing a streamlined approach to sales and escorting customers through close, including implementing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to collect, track, and report critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Retain Current Customers: Maximize client retention by devising strategic initiatives that use key customer insights and motivate Project Management and Operations teams.
  • Identify Digital Efficiencies: Leverage existing and emergent digital tools to drive awareness, track sales leads, convert new customers, and engage current customers.
  • Be a Communication Powerhouse: Actively manage internal and external brand communications, including marketing, advertising, sales, newsletters, public relations, and customer service.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of B2B marketing experience required. Sales experience is also preferred.
  • Government agency and federal Request for Proposal (RFP) experience a plus.
  • A self-starter with a “can do” mentality: ready to make the plan and execute it.
  • Has developed and managed department budgets, intentionally allocating resources to drive performance.
  • Process-oriented with an analytical approach to measuring results and continuous improvement.
  • Has a proven track record of collaborating with teams that did not directly report to you, with glowing reviews from team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word); sales CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Air Table, etc.); Google Analytics and Adobe Photoshop a plus.
  • Occasional travel (<10%) outside of the Chicagoland area may be required to events, conferences, or meetings.
  • Expected to provide one’s own transportation for local events and/or client meetings within the Chicagoland area.
