Position Overview:

The Camp Counselor is responsible for working closely with year-round Museum Educators to provide engaging in-person camp experiences at the museum to children ages 5-10 between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm M-F. The Camp Counselor must be available to work from June 10 until August 9 and must have a passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assists Museum Educators in facilitating hands-on workshops on the weekly STEAM related subject.
• Responsible for assisting with whole group experiences and for managing smaller groups of up to 9 children during daily workshops, museum exploration, outdoor and indoor play, snack, lunch, story time, games, and field trips.
• Responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of the children through behavioral management and basic first aid.
• Assists with preparation of materials and clean-up.
• Observes the daily schedule and demonstrates punctuality.
• Other duties as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 2 years of summer camp experience or other experience working with groups of children.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR/first aid certification

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
