Maintenance/Custodial Tech
FSLA: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Operations
Position Summary:
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the overall appearance and maintenance of the facility building and grounds. The Facilities Coordinator will work a flexible schedule to ensure the needs of the Children’s Center as well as the DHS regulations are being met.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
Respond and complete all maintenance and cleaning requests promptly.
Ensure all basic preventative maintenance and repairs including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances and gutter cleaning are completed.
Maintain grounds in a safe and esthetic manner including but not limited to lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, leaf removal, sweeping off sidewalks/entrance ways.
Maintain interior spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety of the children and staff, including but not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, vacuum carpets, sanitize bathrooms and restock disposables, window cleaning.
Ensure all spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out the trash, tidying furniture and dusting spaces.
Ensures exterior spaces, including parking lot are free from unauthorized visitors and/or any other threats to staff or children by walking premise minimum of once per day.
Utilize approved insecticides to prevent infestations, both interior and exterior.
Perform minor maintenance/repairs such as replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, toilet repairs and snaking drains.
Report all major damages and oversee repairs as assigned.
Assist with snow removal by clearing entrances and walkways.
Assist staff with lifting and/or moving heavier items such as cabinets, tables or chairs.
All other responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
Experience as a maintenance tech, custodian, janitor or in a similar role.
Clearances, drug test, and physical required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting skills.
Basic cleaning skills.
Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous materials.
Basic landscaping and handyman practices.
Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
Requires good physical strength and condition
