Stephens College is Hiring a Math Tutor Near Columbia, MO

Description

The Margaret Campbell Student Success Center announces one in-person part-time position (ten to fifteen hours weekly) for a professional tutor beginning Fall Semester 2024. The Center seeks a professional who can be a self-directed member of the Success Center team and provide math and science tutoring to undergraduate students. Scheduling availability is as important as expertise. The Center’s hours are M-F, 8-5. One Position for Math and Science Tutoring (ten to fifteen hours weekly)

Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferred but will consider a graduate student with a high level of academic achievement
  • Teaching experience preferred, high school or college
  • Ability to contribute to an equitable and inclusive academic support environment
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting students with college-level math and science courses (Algebra, Statistics, Thinking Quantitatively, and Physics I & II); possibly other math-related courses as well
  • Ability to guide students in effective academic strategies for college-level math and science courses
  • Ability to guide undergraduate students, including those who are academically at-risk, through math and science content
  • Ability to proctor exams for students with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding records and information
