GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company is currently seeking a Tool Control Technician to carry out various tasks in our production facility. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical and electrical maintenance background, hand tool experience, excellent communication skills, and high attention to detail. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining current production machinery, inventorying hand tools, scanning tools, laser etching tools, tool kit assembly, and reporting any inconsistencies or quality issues directly to the Logistics Manager. This position is for full-time employment, including company benefits.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mechanical and electrical knowledge of production machinery including CNC machines and laser cutters.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues via visual and physical inspection, identify root cause, repair when possible, replace if necessary, or make decision to bring in expert.
• Inspect incoming tools, catalog, and enter in inventory management system.
• Operate etching and laser scanning equipment with proper training.
• Assemble individually produced elements into a final product.
• Conduct quality control review of produced goods assuring they meet company provided guidelines.
• Measure and record data using a tape measure and calipers.
• Pack product for shipping to clients.
• Maintain a clean and presentable work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma / GED required.
• Mechanical and / or electrical technical training preferred.

Experience and Required Skills:

• 2 years’ work experience in tool control, production, manufacturing, or construction equivalent.
• Excellent problems solving / troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work in a team-oriented work environment.
• Excellent communication skills and high degree of mechanical aptitude.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
• Some knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Excel.
