Responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of the Grounds Maintenance section of the Physical Plant Department. Assists in determination of supply needs and reports such to Manager of Grounds.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices utilized in grounds maintenance.
- Considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of work associated with grounds maintenance.
- Considerable knowledge of needs of areas throughout the campus for grounds maintenance.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to assign and supervise work performed by others.
- Ability to qualify for university driver certification.
Physical Demands Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Experience and Training
Three years of experience in work related to maintenance of yards and gardening. Experience in the use of, and safety precautions of, machinery utilized in the upkeep of lawns, gardens, etc. is required. Experience in the supervision of others is required.

This position is eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
